Why host a World AeroPress Championship event?
Hosting a World AeroPress Championship event is a great way to bring your coffee community together, and to showcase the best coffee your town, city, or country has to offer.
The World AeroPress Championship is a global network of light-hearted and inclusive events that give coffee lovers from all walks of life the opportunity to shine. Our hosts are a crucial partner in making this happen.
As the host, your role is to provide your local coffee community with the best night of their year — an opportunity to meet and hang out with other coffee lovers, while putting their coffee brewing skills to the ultimate test.
What are my responsibilities as host?
Aside from putting on a great event, and encouraging coffee lovers from far-and-wide to get involved, hosts are also responsible for:
Commissioning the design of an official event poster
Ensuring that the official rules and guidelines are followed
Seeing that any disputes or queries from competitors are handled respectfully and fairly
Covering travel and accomodation costs for their winner to compete in the world finals
What do hosts get from the organisers?
As the organisers, we provide our hosts with everything they need to put on a great event in their community. We offer:
Offical and exclusive gold, silver, and bronze (coloured) AeroPress trophies
The Hosting Kit containing supplies, donated by our sponsors, to make your event even better
A practical, step-by-step guide to best practices in running your event
Exclusive hosting rights for your country, territory, or region
Promotion of your event through our website, Facebook page, and social media channels
A 30-minute video chat with the organisers for advice and feedback on your plans
How are hosting applications evaluated?
We’re looking for hosts who will do a good job of bringing their community together for a fun and inclusive event, while also having the operational experience to make sure the competition runs smoothly, and the best brewer is crowned as champion. Fill out the application honestly and sincerely, and if you're the right fit, you'll get the gig. 👌
Is there already a host in my country?
Possibly. Check this list of existing hosts to find out.
What does it cost to be a host?
Prospective hosts will pay a A$150 application fee to submit, and successful applicants will pay a A$2,500 hosting fee to secure the rights in their country. Both fees go directly towards the cost of organising each season and world final.
